The Berlin Wall Exhibition was founded in 2010 by Joerg Moser-Metius with the aim of renovating the GDR border watchtower in Erna-Berger-Strasse and thereby saving what is likely the oldest relic of the Berlin Wall from demise.
This not only gave rise to a series of very successful anniversary exhibitions on the history of the Berlin Wall in all its facets, but also inspired the idea of founding a museum of its own.
The dream came true in what once was one of the busiest areas in Berlin and later became part of the no man’s land for almost 30 years. We opened our new museum on Leipziger Platz in May 2020 for Berliners and for guests from all over the world.
